Great piece! I see your point but at the same time it may be worth digging deeper why that could be the case, beyond our “analytical nature”. Im curious as I read your article, where do your friends (engineers v LA-ers) from? their cultural influence may be a factor, eg asians might be taught since they were kids to be more frugal. their background, eg immigrants v some family born here (maybe they get to live with their parents), can also affect their behavior. would love to see some stats there.
